DESCRIPTION: Tabletop Tube AM/FM radio manufactured by GE in early to mid sixties in excellent working condition. Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial. FM stations come clearly with attached antenna wire. Cabinet is original mint light grey plastic. One of the bottom has a chip off the front edge but the radio still rests flat on a level surface. Cannot see the broken off tip of the bottom leg. Not repainted. Very cool and usable if FM is a must have. This radio is over 50 years old! Looks fifties even though it's AM/FM. By mid sixties, AM/FM radios were faux wood and metal trim. You know the look: it lasted until the early seventies. No dial light. Not designed with one. There are no cracks on the top which is a miracle on this flat section of plastic with no support contours. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The gold logo is legible. The kitschy-est of kitsch! The tuning dial works fine. The dial is behind a convex plastic lens that magnifies the dial numbers. Cool! Matching darker grey tuning dial. Original power cable is securely attached no breaks, splits, or exposed wiring. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, the Kennedy Space Program was all the rage!
