Artisan Handcrafted Original Vintage Wood 1937 Philco Model 37-12 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Factory original wood cabinet manufactured by Philco in the Great Depression Pre-WW2 era. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1937 time frame still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Dial light lights up brightly. The knobs are matching brown Bakelite securely attached. No cracks, chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! There are a few areas where the finish is thin with wood showing through. There's an area by the right side with some scratches through the finish. There is no peeling or cracked veneer which is common. This vintage radio has the original factory finish which is yellowed and age-checked like an old instrument. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Original factory grill cloth in excellent condition no rips no runs. Original shiny brass tuning window surround trim and tuning cover glass. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with external antenna attachment which is included. Excellent art deco design! This radio is over 80 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial glass is original no hazing or no yellowing and no cracks. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original inside label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. Original backing board is missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
