Espresso Marble Brown Bakelite 1937 Majestic Model 651 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Real Jawdropper!
DESCRIPTION: Would look at home in your mansion library or sitting parlor! If you don't live in a mansion, this would be a good start for your mansion dreams! This vintage tabletop tube AM radio was manufactured by Majestic in 1937-1939 time frame in stunning original factory molded brown bakelite! Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with external antenna attachment included. Cabinet is in excellent+ condition with no cracks, chips or major scratches. This radio is over 80 years old! Brand new replacement grill cloth is matched to authentic period fabric. No rips, pills, holes, or discoloration. Tightly and securely attached along all edges and corners to original interior grill mount baffle and held in place by original factory clips. The tuning knob and volume knobs are in perfect condition and securely attached. The volume knob and tuning knobs are fantastic torpedo design, look at the close up! The clear dial face is excellent condition with no stress cracks slightly yellowed not warped. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Beautiful functional dial light. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Original backing board is intact not missing. Sweet! Replacement power cord and plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
