Curved Wood 1946 Emerson Model 578A AM Vacuum Tube Radio Beautiful Little Woody!
DESCRIPTION: Beautiful AM tabletop vacuum tube clock radio manufactured by Emerson in the 1946 time frame still in excellent+ working and physical condition. This radio has a nice mid century style post modern style. Looks current even by today's standards. Front has been reveneered with new fine grained wood veneer. Front has been refinished with many clear coats and buffed and polished until smooth and shiny. No cracks, chips, or major scratches! No other repairs or repaints of any kind on this vintage radio. None needed. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with an external wire antenna which is included. Original cabinet of this antique radio is factory finished in semi-gloss clear coat. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching plastic securely attached. The tuning and volume knobs are in excellent condition. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Front plastic grill is not cracked not chipped no warping. Some oxidation flecks on the gold back paint. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. Tuning dial clear plastic window is factory original. No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring on the back of the radio. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
