Auburn Brown and Maroon Mid Century 1955 Zenith Model R623R AM Tube Radio Sleek and Sweet Sounds Great!

DESCRIPTION: This vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith is in 1955 in excellent condition. The cabinet is fabulous! Molded in solid Bakelite. It has a satin gloss finish versus a mirror glossy sheen which is normal for this material. Not repainted or touched up. No cracks, chips or major scratches anywhere on cabinet. No cracks on top. Tuning and volume knobs are original and securely attached. Center cravat grill is original red color. Zenith crest logo is original securely attached slightly tarnished with age. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine as designed. No tarnish and discoloration of meta trim. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no humming no grinding no ticking noises. Clock and alarm time set functions work. Alarm works. Sleep timer works. Bonus. Little dial light dimmer works. Double bonus. This model features both side clock and radio tuning dimmer pilot lights. Triple bonus. Old style pilot bulbs have been replaced with brighter longer lasting LED bulbs. Tuning side is brighter than the clock side though. Near mint backing board is intact and securely mounted with original t-pins. The condition of these series Zenith is revealed by the thick cardboard backing board. This one has all the four t-pins. The mounting holes are still stiff not ripped not fatigued. This is testimony to the radio's well cared history. Bottom factory labels are not missing mostly there and legible. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
