Mocha Brown Bakelite 1950 General Electric Model 402 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great Excellent Condition!

DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM vacuum tube radio manufactured by General Electric in 1950 in excellent working and physical condition.

SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. 

CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded dark brown Bakelite cabinet. No chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Not repainted, no touch up not over sprayed. Tuning clear plastic cover has a hairline crack. There is a repaired crack on the right side bottom edge and front right bottom corner. Front gold metal trim piece is tarnished. Some of the red "Standard" and "Broadcast" lettering is rubbed off at either end of the tuning register. No tuning numbers are rubbed off.

KNOBS: Original matching factory plastic taupe colored tuning and volume knobs are securely attached. Tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots. Volume on/off switch is original and securely attached.

LOGO:  No missing logos.

DIAL LIGHT: Dial light works and lights up brightly. 

INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

POWER CORD: The replacement power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. 

BACKING BOARD: Factory original backing board. Broken off attach tabs have been reinforced from behind with replacement fiber board tabs. Backing board securely mounted

FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Original factory labels are intact.
