DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio manufactured by Admiral in 1959 in excellent plus physical and working condition.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Loud clear receives all the stations.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is factory original molded cool aquamarine turquoise back and ivory white front color plastic. Not repainted no touch up no over spray. Often this model has heat crack on top. Not this one!
KNOBS: Factory original matching volume and tuning knobs securely attached. Clock matching function knobs are replacements but period correct.
LOGO: No missing logos.
DIAL LIGHT: No dial light. Not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine.All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The thick original power cord and plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: No back board. Not designed with one. Color matching back cover is in excellent condition no cracks no chips no major scratches. No melted heat vents.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: Bottom label is about 10% missing. Rest of label is intact and readable.
CLOCK: Clock works, keeps accurate time with no humming no buzzing and no grinding noises. No ticking noises. Alarm works. Sleep function works. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. Clear clock cover is original no cracks, no chips, no discoloration or warping. The clock black panel back is in excellent condition with no rust, no oxidation trails, no water stains, and no rub off lettering. Top snooze button chrome plastic base is faded.
