DESCRIPTION: Beautiful AM Tabletop vacuum tube clock radio manufactured by Emerson in the 1946 time frame still in excellent working condition. This radio has a nice early mid century style. There are hairline cracks along the front top curve edge where the wood was formed during the manufacturing process. Not cracks due to age or damage. There is a small veneer wood chip on the front top left edge. No cabinet repairs or repaints of any kind on this vintage radio. None needed. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Original molded black front grill Bakelite attachment has no cracks and no chips. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need for external wire antenna. Original cabinet of this antique radio is in glossy condition. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching plastic securely attached. The tuning and volume knobs are in excellent condition. This radio is over 70 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! Attractive blue dial face makes this radio stand out. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. Original tuning dial clear plastic window no cracks no yellowing no scratches and securely attached. Dial light lights brightly. Original Bakelite back cover attached with all four original flat head machine screws. Most examples from this series have thick cardboard backing boards that go missing over the years. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. Little exposed wiring on the back of the radio.
