DESCRIPTION: Some radio designs defy explanation. This is one of the radios that you have to see to appreciate. Something about its proportions its color combination and its front grill seems to come together just perfectly! The front deco inspired grill is captivating. Looks like a grill from an old Buick or Oldsmobile from the forties. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in the 1949 in excellent+ working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition! Factory molded in red burgundy color. Not repainted, over sprayed or touched-up. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. This radio is over 70 years old and going strong! Motorola label on front speaker grill is in excellent condition. No cracks chips or discoloration. Look at the cool 40s Motorola logo! The knobs are in excellent condition. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on on the dial numbering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Dial light lights brightly. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug is a brand new replacement with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
