1955 Crosley Model JC-6-WE Vacuum Tube AM Radio in White Genuine Faux Leather Naugahyde Covering!
DESCRIPTION: Back when vinyl covering was still considered a modern wonder, Crosley introduced this inventive little number. Naugahyde was a rubber coated fabric product introduced by the US Rubber company of Naugatuck, CT. Leave it to Crosley to come up with a classy looking design which uses this miracle of modern science. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Crosley in 1955 in excellent+ working condition. factory original wood cabinet that is covered in white Naugahyde. No cracks. No chips. No major scratches. Original factory color. The knobs are original. This vintage beauty has retained the original metal legs. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The Crosley logo is missing a little section of its "C." The tuning dial works fine. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent no buzzing no humming no ticking no grinding noises. Time and alarm set function works. Sleep timer works. Original metal clock knobs are shiny and high quality. Gold metal clock surround trim is shiny no rust pitting dents or discoloration. Clear clock face window has micro cracks due to age and temperature fluctuations but is intact and in one piece. Side gold metal grills are slightly pitted in spots. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
