DESCRIPTION: If you are looking to complete your mid-century avocado green kitchen with the perfect accent piece, here is the radio for you! Avocado was the new turquoise or pink back in the 60's! Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Emerson in 1962 excellent+ physical and working condition. Original factory molded avocado green color. No repaints. No touch-ups. No over spray. None needed. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. No yellowing or fading. The front grill in excellent condition. Pristine metal mesh grill. No dents or dings! Amazing. The front Emerson logo is in excellent A+ condition. The white painted finish by the radio dial is scratched in the bottom right corner. The original knobs are solid and securely attached with original gold metal caps in excellent A+ condition. Hooray! Usually, one or all of these gold metal center caps goes missing over the years. The little yellowed clock knobs are securely attached. Very mid century in concept. The clock face is crystal clear not yellowing. The shiny silver clock face has an excellent mirror finish. However, the black icon signalling 6 on the dial has major scratching.  Also the clock hands are both missing material in the center.  Please review photographs carefully before purchasing. The minor scratches really do not detract from the look of the piece. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. No clock light not designed with one. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works quietly and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The thick power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. This thing belongs in a museum!
