DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by General Electric in 1950's excellent+  condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in near mint condition. There are no cracks, chips, splits, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet. Still has some of its original factory glossiness. Original factory molded colors. No repaints, no over sprays. None needed. The front bezel is beautiful with no cracks, dents or dings! Look at the cool atomic motif! Sputnik era! This radio is over 50 years old! Dial light works and lights up brightly. The General Electric label on the bottom edge is in good original condition with no rub-off. The tuning surround is in very good condition with clear station numbers. Usually these black station dials get rubbed off. Original knobs are clear with gold color inserts and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine and smooth. The power cable is in excellent condition and securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. I've experienced humming with these models even after replacing all the capacitors. This is the 5th set I've been through where no matter how hard I try, there seems to be some hum. Unless you tune into a strong station, there is a humming sound. Maybe it's just picking up computer interference from the other side of the house. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
