Aquamarine Turquoise Mid Century Retro Jetsons 1957 Motorola Model 56H Turbine Vacuum Tube AM Radio Works Amazing!
DESCRIPTION: It's not too often you come across one of these in a stunning rare aquamarine turquoise color! The cabinet is factory original urea plastic which is a hard inflexible plastic that predates styrene plastics found everywhere today. The condition of this particular cabinet is in very good condition. There is a hairline heat crack visible on the top left side. An acrylic reinforcement panel has been installed underneath the heat crack to prevent further damage. There is a heat crack on the bottom. One of the back braces which holds the backing board is chipped off. The backing board remains securely attached. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1957 in excellent+ working condition. This design is called the turbine radio for obvious reasons. The clear cone is shiny and original and securely attached. No major scratches on the nose cone. No chips or dents or discoloration any where on the cabinet. All original turquoise color is very much sought after for its rarity. Original factory molded color not painted no over spray no touch up. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Nice deep rich tone. This radio is over 50 years old! The original knobs are in excellent condition. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in very good condition with crisp square corners. The replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are excellent working condition. No exposed wiring. No missing factory labels. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
