Nautilus Blue and White Vintage 1951-1952 Motorola Model 52X12U Vacuum Tube AM Radio Beautiful Sounding!
DESCRIPTION: Beautiful early 50s design with transparent dial register on top. Very sleek mid-century design with a modernist twist. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in early 1951 - 1952 in excellent+ working and physical condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Bakelite cabinet is in excellent condition no cracks no chips no chips no major scratches. Factory painted white Bakelite cabinet no repaints no over spray no touch ups. Factory painted medium blue metal pinhole grill no flaking no rust no dents or dings. This radio is over 65 years old! Original matching medium blue knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. The clear dial top register is in excellent condition with no cracks or major scratches and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no stuck or sticky spots. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in very good condition with crisp square corners and clear factory printing. The brand new replacement power cord and polarized plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. No missing factory labels. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
