Fire Engine Red 1949 Jewel Model 940 Red Bakelite Tube Radio Totally Restored Excellent Condition!

DESCRIPTION: AM Tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Jewel in the 1949-50 time frame still in excellent+ working and physical condition. This particular model is similar to Madison Model 940. Typically, molded in pink, white, black, or turquoise. This is the first I've seen in red. No cracks, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! No repairs or repaints of any kind. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The little clock knobs are original. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Original factory red painted bakelite cabinet is in glossy condition. Not repainted no over spray no touch ups. All original factory glossy paint in near mint condition! The volume and tuning knobs are original matching ivory plastic securely attached. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock is quiet. Alarm works, Alarm set works. Clock set works. Sleep function works. This radio is over 60 years old! All the gold dial numbering and lettering is slightly rubbed off. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. The clock lettering is smudge by water damage. The tuning and volume dials work fine. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. The backing board is original in good condition. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
