Seafoam Green Supreme Silvertone 1956 Model 7008 AM Tube Radio An Eyeful and Earful of 50s Charm!!
DESCRIPTION: This clock radio tries every trick in the 50s playbook like a song from Fabian; seafoam green, contrasting tweed grill cloth, Star Trek tuning indicator, boxy offset contours and unique, if slightly discordant, cabinet cross hatching. It manages, however, to look a little off kilter like the 1958 Edsel Ranger in Caribbean Blue as opposed to the resonating pink 1959 Cadillac Fleetwood. Manufactured by Sears under their Silvertone brand, once a retailing powerhouse, now a shadow. This Silvertone is in excellent+ working and physical condition. Cabinet is factory molded in sea foam green color. No cracks or major scratches.There is a small chip on the top front edge. Not repainted, no over spray no touch up. No repairs to cabinet. None needed. The original grill cloth is clean, no fraying no rips, no discoloration no smells. Volume and tuning knobs with unique radial raised nibs are original and securely attached. Tuning window clear pane is in excellent condition with no cracks, no chips, no major scratches and no yellowing. One of the four little square brass mounting screws is missing. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. No missing logos or labels. The bottom label is still there but in fair to poor condition. The side consumer label is in good condition and read-able. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping and no sticky spots. Volume works. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. Dial light works and lights up brightly. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Original power cord is in very good condition with no breaks, splits or exposed wiring. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No exposed wiring. Original factory backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square edges and corners. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
