Limoncello Yellow Mid Century  1961 Philco Model K822-124 Tube AM Radio Cool Color!

DESCRIPTION: Fun and bright yellow tabletop tube AM radio alarm manufactured by Philco in 1961 timeframe in very good working condition. Factory molded yellow color that is still bright. Definitely yellow and not ivory, yellowed ivory or yellowed beige. Not repainted no over spray no touch up. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or missing plastic.  No modifications, repaints, or repairs to cabinet. None needed. This radio nearly 60 years old!  The original tuning face insert is blemished due to oxidation over time not abuse, neglect or exposure to chemicals. I've seen several of these old yellow Philco Model K822-124's and all them exhibited similar distressed looking tuning dial face. The tuning face insert is actually a plastic textured sticker painted with gold paint at the Philco factory. Over time, condensation on the plastic reacts with the metal flakes in the gold paint and the result is what you see. Rather than reproduce this tuning insert, I decided to leave it as original. The knobs are in excellent condition with no missing gold center caps! The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. No dial light. Not designed with one.  All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment. This thing belongs in a museum!
