Midnite Black Vintage Bakelite 1938 Silvertone Model 6102A AM Tube Radio Rare and Sounds Great!

DESCRIPTION: Rare antique radio from the 1938-1939 from once prominent Sears company catalog number 57L6102A. This vintage radio manufactured by Silvertone in 1937-38 time frame is in excellent working and physical condition. Cabinet is factory black bakelite. Known as the "Automatic Streamliner" due to its streamline design and unique four buttons that can tune to your favorite radio stations. No repaints, no over spray no touch up. None needed.  Front grill cloth has been replaced. The original grill cloth will be included. No dents or dings. Volume and tuning knobs are original and securely attached. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. Needs external antenna. Any long wire 10 feet or so will do.  This radio is over 70 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. No missing logos or labels. The bottom label is intact. The tuning dial works fine. No slipping. Volume works. The little pre-select push buttons work but are fairly gnarled due to age. Pre-selected stations can be reset for your area. There is a small crack on the front top left side. No other cracks, chips, or major scratches. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. Original power cord works but looks like it's seen better days. No exposed wiring or brittleness. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. Bottom labels are mostly intact yellowed missing corner. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
