DESCRIPTION: Purple shades are the rarest colors to be offered in this era. This vintage radio is an excellent example of this rare color.  This antique tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm was manufactured by Motorola in 1957 and is in excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is over 50 years old! No chips or major scratches. This vintage radio has a perfect top. There is no hairline heat crack on top, which is common for this model by Motorola. No external repairs or repaints. None needed. This is a factory original molded in lavender. It is absolutely stunning to behold. When was the last time you felt such a thrill to check the clock and see what time it was? Not missing Motorola label on front speaker grill. Though the Motorola logo label is cracked and not in perfect condition.  Please review photos carefully before purchase. The knobs are in excellent condition. The clear tuning knob surround is not cracked but is slightly yellowed, which is common for plastic of this age. The clear dial face has a small stress crack on the right side under the "ON/OFF/AUTO" knob. Please see the photo close-up. The gold metal front fascia is not scratched or dinged.  The golden color has worn off and is now a rubbed silver color.  This vintage radio has no missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The alarm works. The clock and alarm set function work. There is a appliance timer function in back. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in great condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. The power cord is a new replacement. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. This radio belongs in a museum!
