Espresso Brown Bakelite 1938 Philco Model 38-12CB Vacuum Tube AM Radio Sounds Great Awesome Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Very well proportioned vintage radio and sounds great! This particular one is a dark espresso brown Bakelite. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1938 time frame still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Dial light lights up brightly. The original knobs are matching brown plastic securely attached. No cracks, chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! This vintage radio is in the original factory color brown Bakelite. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. This one is missing its original backing board. Original factory grill cloth in good condition no rips no runs. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with external antenna attachment which is included. Any long hank of wire will do. Excellent art deco design! This radio is over 80 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is original no hazing or no yellowing and no cracks. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. A little rub off by the tuning pointer shaft where the pointer rubbed up against the dial face paper. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
