DESCRIPTION: We look at this clock radio design now and forget that in 1952, this was a very forward thinking and prescient design. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in 1952 in excellent+ working condition. There are cracks on the top, and on the front clock and tuning face. No major chips or scratches anywhere. Paint dents and dings throughout. Original factory painted Bakelite back. Front clear plastic is original gold painted trim. Not repainted. Not touched up. No over spray. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The radio gold painted front clear plastic is tarnished and rubbed off along edges. The clock face is in excellent condition. Tiny eyelash cracks by the On Off Auto and Sleep buttons. No other eyelash cracks. This radio is almost 70 years old! The knobs are in excellent condition. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. There is a appliance timer function in back. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. No missing factory labels. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
