DESCRIPTION: This Marconi would be great for the fashionista in your home. If not used as radio, you can put it on your kitchen counter and call it a toaster and nobody could tell the difference! Diminutive size AM and shortwave tabletop tube radio manufactured by Marconi in 1951-54 timeframe in excellent+ working condition. The case has several hairline cracks. This radio has very good audio sound quality. Loud and clear for its size. All original molded factory color no repaints or repairs. None needed. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Mesh grill is factory original gold with no dents or dings, Picks up AM and shortwave stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with external antenna attachment which is included. Any long hank of wire will do. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. The tuning dial cover is cracked but securely attached. The dial face shows various European countries. Neat! No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine no slipping no sticky spots. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. Requires plug and power converter to operate on US mains 120V 60hz which is included. Bottom factory labels are not missing. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
