DESCRIPTION: Tabletop Tube AM radio manufactured by Philco in 1950's excellent working condition. Look at the wild oblique angles! Dual speaker design! Cabinet is original molded salmon pink color. These old Jetsons styled radios in rare colors are becoming more and more collectible. This is a particularly rare design so it should fare well in the future resale market. The front grill is in excellent condition. No cracks on the top! No repairs, repaints. The front gold center applique is a non original replacement. Tuning knob is original and securely attached. Volume knob is original. The center gold metal cap is a replacement. This radio is one of the better ones for listening purposes. This radio is over 60 years old! Dial light works brightly. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine. The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The power cord interconnect base has been strengthened with some cloth and electrical tape to reduce cord fatigue. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
