Elegant Wood Grain Art Deco 1950 General Electric Model 521 Clock Radio Totally Restored!

DESCRIPTION: Of the late forties and early fifties versions of this model, this color combination of faux woodgrain bakelite with the gold faschia is probably rarer than plain brown or ivory. Has a dignified upscale look, like it would belong in a library or banker's office. This radio is not actually made of wood but it looks like it is from the top. The top is nicely painted at the GE factory with a very real looking woodgrain. Vintage tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by General Electric in 1950 excellent working condition. This radio has a very post war industrial look, even a little Art Deco. No cracks, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the bakelite cabinet! There are a few spots on top where the faux woodgrain is wearing thin. No repairs or repaints of any kind. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent design! Looks very studious, serious and elegant, in my opinion. The volume knob is original matching ivory bakelite securely attached. Clock is beautiful, we love the brass surround, the blue clock face and the red dial. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock is quiet. Alarm works, Alarm set works. Clock set works. Sleep function works. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The tubes are working fine. The power cord and plug is original with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
