Marilyn Pink Mid Century 1956 Motorola Model 56CD Vacuum Tube AM Clock Radio What a Babe!

DESCRIPTION: Pretty and pink. Marilyn would have approved. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in 1956 excellent working and physical condition. Just a faint heat crack on top in the usual place. Usually much worse. These heat cracks on top back left quadrant are fairly common among 56CD and 57CC models that have had normal use. A heat shield has been added as part of our intensive restoration process to prevent possible heat cracks in the future (that should have been added by Motorola engineers back in the day!). No cracks, chips or scratches anywhere on cabinet. The clear clock cover is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips or major scratches. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. The radio gold metal plate is in excellent condition with no rust or rub-off some tarnish. The clock face is in very good  condition. No eyelash cracks on the clear clock bezel by the little clock knobs which is commonly found. This radio is over 60 years old!  The knobs are in excellent condition. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time Clock motor is silent no humming no buzzing no ticking noises. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. There is a appliance timer function in back. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The original power cord and plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. No missing factory labels. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
