DESCRIPTION: This vintage tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Motorola in 1956 is in excellent+ working and physical condition. This clock radio features a bi-level clock and radio design. The clock is uniquely cantilevered off to the left at a slightly higher level than the radio section. This is reminiscent of euro architecture and furniture designs from the late fifties and early sixties. Post-modernist proportions with bright period hues that bespeak of technological and economic optimism and American confidence pf the period. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition. No chips. No major scratches. No heat cracks on top. Original factory molded urea plastic black color. No repaint. No over spray. No touch up. This radio is over 50 years old!  Motorola label on front speaker grill is in excellent plus condition. The knobs are in excellent condition no cracks missing gold inserts no yellowing. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The sleep function works. The clock motor is quiet on this one. There is a appliance timer function in back. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. No missing factory labels. The power cord and plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. No missing factory labels. This antique radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection.
