Aqua and White Sputnik Era Vintage 1957 General Electric Model 862 AM Radio Blast-Off to Beauty!
DESCRIPTION: This is an iconic radio as seen on Leave It To Beaver series and "The Professional" in red/white, with Jean Reno and Natalie Portman in her debut. This is an excellent antique radio and very collectible. Original factory molded aqua and white cabinet. No repaints, over sprays, or touch up. No cracks, chips, or major scratches any where. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by General Electric in 1950's excellent+ working condition. The front bezel is beautiful with no cracks, dents or dings and the graphics are in good condition. Look at the cool atomic motif! So Sputnik! This radio is over 60 years old! Dial light works and lights up brightly. The General Electric label on the bottom edge is in very good condition with no rust, tarnish, rub-off, or peeling. Original knobs are clear with gold color inserts and securely attached. The tuning dial works fine and smooth and the dial plate rotates smoothly as you tune to a station. Nifty little retro feature! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The original power cord and plug are excellent original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The power cord is original turquoise color matching. Nice little touch! The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
