Artisan Handcrafted Original Vintage Wood 1940 Westinghouse Model WR-184 AM Radio Sounds Great Solid Construction!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Westinghouse in 1940 in excellent cosmetic and working condition. The knobs are original matching brown Bakelite securely attached. Original wood cabinet is structurally intact with no splits or unglued seams in the construction anywhere on the cabinet. No peeling or chipped veneer. No warping or bowing or cabinet ply pieces. All original factory finish shows finish dings, thinning, and age checking throughout like an old piece of furniture. Original dial surround escutcheon is in excellent condition with no cracks no chips securely attached. Missing 1 lower left corner wood screw. Original factory Westinghouse logo is excellent condition. Original factory front wood grill attachment is intact and securely attached. Not repainted no touch ups, no overspray. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial with or without external antenna attachment. This radio is over 80 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear no flaking no rub off of glass dial printing. Clear dial glass is original with no cracks no chips securely attached. The tuning and volume dials work fine. Preset stations push buttons work. All push buttons return to level original state as designed without popping off. Tuning dial does not slip no sticky spots. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original labels are intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug is in excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
