DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM antique radio manufactured by Motorola in 1957 in excellent+ working condition. This design is one of my personal favorites of vintage radios. Looks very automotive and sci fi to me. A collectors favorite. This blue color is extremely rare. I have actually never seen one before and didn't even know it existed until this one. Original factory molded color not painted. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very good condition. There is a small hairline crack beginning from the top back center. There are small hairline inclusions throughout the cabinet like wood grain. This is probably due to the hard brittle properties of the urea plastic and the effects of temperature changes over the years. It is structurally sound. None of the cracks except the one mentioned above seems to go through the thickness of the cabinet. This retro radio is over 60 years old! Grill is in excellent condition with no dents, dings, rust, or warping. Motorola label on front speaker grill is in excellent condition. The knobs are in excellent condition. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The clear bezel on this radio is securely attached no cracks or scratches. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. The tuning indicator button is in excellent condition. Top lighted on/off button works and lights brightly! All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. Someone once added a phono jack and toggle switch to the back panel but has since been removed. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
