DESCRIPTION: Here's a manufacturer you don't find often. This radio is original molded in ivory Plaskon a harder brittle predecessor to modern plastics. It is not common to find Plaskon type plastic nowadays because it is more expensive to manufacture. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Hoffman in the 1946 time frame in excellent working condition. There are hairline cracks on top and bottom. There is a chip on the bottom right side in back. Replacement bakelite knobs are in excellent condition and securely attached. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Dial light works and lights up brightly. This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is translucent clear no cracks, hazing or warping. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The tuning dial does not slip. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
