DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1946 timeframe still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. No chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! The original brown Bakelite has been repainted a mirror glossy orange red color. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The Bluetooth MP3 controls are mounted to a newly fabricated console board. The backing boards from these Philco 46, 47,48, 49-200s are missing 9 times out of 10. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Dial light works and lights up brightly. The knobs are matching ivory plastic securely attached. This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is new replacement with no scratches, hazing, or yellowing. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
