Marble Swirly Brown Bakelite Vintage 1946 Philco Model 46-420 AM Radio Flawless and Sounds Amazing!
DESCRIPTION: This is one of the more recognizable and popular designs from the 40s. Affectionately referred to as the "hippo." Very proportioned design and sounds great! Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in the 1946 timeframe still in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Dial lights up brightly. The original knobs are matching brown plastic securely attached. No chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! This vintage radio is in the original factory color brown Bakelite. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Clear dial plastic is original with very little hazing or yellowing and no cracks. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The power cord and plug is new and in perfect working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
