Burgundy Brown Bakelite Vintage 1951 Philco Model 50-526 AM Radio Sounds Amazing Looks Grand!

DESCRIPTION: Very proportioned design and sounds great! Has golden age big band bandstand look. Tabletop tube radio manufactured by Philco in 1951. This vintage radio is in very good cosmetic and excellent working condition. The original knobs are matching clear plastic with gold metal inserts securely attached. No chips, splits, abrasions, or missing material anywhere on the cabinet! There is a crack on the right side top corner that has been stabilized, it is not noticeable from the front. Please see picture. This vintage radio is in the original factory molded color burgundy-ish brown bakelite. Not repainted no over spray no touch up. None needed. Original factory painted gold grill. Original grill cloth no rips no fraying no holes. All original knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! This radio is over 65 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. No flaking which is common with Philco dial glass. Clear dial glass is original with very little hazing or yellowing and no cracks. No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The tuning and volume dials work fine. No slipping. Dial lights up brightly. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. The original bottom label is intact. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The replacement power cord and polarized plug is in perfect working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. I'm amazed the original backing is still there since it is held on by only four pins at the corners. backing board is in very good condition. Backing board is missing 9 out of 10 of these old Philcos. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
