DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Silvertone in 1950's excellent working condition. Model 13 in Ice Blue was one of my top ten "ones that got away," that I regret selling. This one Model 11 in brown is in much better condition. It's almost mint. This design is extremely functional. Sounds great! Looks great! Cabinet is original molded brown color. If it was blue, it wouldn't be for sale. But, that's just my personal predilection for ice blue. The front tweed grill is in stunning condition. No stains. No rips. no funky discolorations. A few runs by the bottom and right side. So pretty. Oozes mid century charm. No cracks on top. Wow! Knobs are original and securely attached. This radio is almost 60 years old! Dial lights brightly on both sides. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tone dial signal wave scale is a preposterous attempt to look high tech. Dual speaker! Tone knob works. Radio/phono switch works. On/Off/volume pull knob works.The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Orson Wells radio broadcast freaked everyone out with thinking that Martians were going to land on Earth!
