Cardinal Red 1952 Capehart Model T-522 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Rare! Beautiful Singing Bird!
DESCRIPTION: Rare as a cardinal sighting in New England woods and just as thrilling to see! One of Capehart's best looking radios in my opinion in its most desirable color. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Capehart in 1952 time frame in excellent working and physical condition. Cabinet and grill are original factory molded red color. No cracks no chips no major scratches. No repaint, no over spray no touch ups on cabinet. None needed. Matching original gold knobs were repaired and repainted. Tuning knob is in excellent condition with no pitting, rust or chips. Tuning pointer works and moves smoothly in both directions end to end. Volume works with smooth evenly attenuation across entire range. No dial light not designed with one but can be added for an extra charge. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and polarized safety plug are brand new condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The original backing board is in excellent condition with crisp square corners. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected inside and out. . All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
