Widow Black and Red Mid Century 1955 Zenith Model R623G AM Tube Radio Sleek and Sounds Great!
DESCRIPTION: This vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith is in 1955 in excellent condition. The cabinet is fabulous! Molded in solid black bakelite. It has a satin gloss finish versus a mirror glossy sheen which is normal for this material. Not repainted or touched up. No cracks, chips or major scratches anywhere on cabinet. No cracks on top. Tuning and volume knobs are original and securely attached, gorgeous! All original three little clock knobs are present intact and securely attached. Little dial light knob is original and working! Dial light fader evenly illuminates from off to fully lit. Such a neat and rare feature. Center cravat grill is original red color. Zenith crest logo is original securely attached and not tarnished with age. This radio is over 60 years old! No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine as designed. No tarnish and discoloration of meta trim. The original power cord is in excellent working condition securely attached no cracking, splits, or exposed wiring. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock motor is silent, no humming, no grinding, no ticking noises. Clock and alarm time set function works. Alarm is loud and turns on as designed. Sleep timer works. Backing board is almost brand new looking with original t-pins. One of the best condition backing boards I've ever seen in this model series. Usually, the pin attachment flimsy corners are fatigued with age and backing board tends to fall off. Bottom factory labels are not missing and in excellent intact condition. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are new and in very good working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
