DESCRIPTION: A vintage tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Mantola in 1946 time frame excellent plus working and physical condition. Not enough Mantolas around. Wish there were more. These are very well made radios by an obscure manufacturer remarketed by BF Goodrich in the 1946 timeframe. Very special looking late Deco post war design. Original factory molded Bakelite brown color. No repaints. No over spray. None needed. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition with no cracks, splits, or missing plastic. No cracks anywhere. This radio is over 70 years old! The original knobs are in excellent condition. Glass tuning window no cracks. No flaking on the dial glass numbering and graphics. Original knobs show very little wear of over 70 years. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping no sticky spots. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Dial light works. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. Factory original antenna backing board is intact and secured attached. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
