Mahogany Brown Wood 1941 Zenith Model 6D-525 AM Vacuum Tube Radio Super Performer!
DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Zenith in 1941 in excellent working and very good physical condition. This radio is original wood cabinet made by Ingraham, a 1930-40s cabinet manufacturer based out of Bristol, CT. Not repainted no overspray no touch up. All original factory finish. No cracks, chips, or major scratches anywhere on the cabinet. Original finish is thin in spots and has checking throughout due to age. Knobs are original and securely attached. The volume knob is chipped. The black metal front tuning panel is in excellent condition no rust no flaking no fading. The clear plastic dial cover is original no cracks. No rust or pitting. No rub off. Minor warping and slight yellowing. White plastic tuning indicator is original, securely attached, and excellent condition.This radio is almost 70 years old! The tuning dial works fine. No slipping no sticky spots. On off switch turns on with a definite click. Volume works and is not scratchy. The dial light works and lights brightly. Replaced with LED rated for 50,000 hours! The replacement power cable and polarized plug is in excellent working condition. No missing factory labels. Original factory backing boar is in excellent condition. All factory printing is clear and legible. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! Picks up stations up and down the dial without external antenna. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
