DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube AM and FM radio manufactured by Westinghouse in 1948 in excellent working and physical condition. Impressed by manufacturers which offered Asian themed anything to the public right after the war.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM and FM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment. FM dipole antenna is included for even better reception.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite with original factory darker and lighter blended blue color theme. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. Original factory finish not repainted, not touched up not over sprayed. Tuning clear glass window is not cracked no flaking numbers. Original factory blue plastic molded oriental theme grill decoration is in excellent condition and securely mounted. The tuning back velvet felt material behind the tuning pointer is worn bare in spots. There are paint dings and abrasion throughout due to age and normal wear and tear.
KNOBS: Original matching factory blue plastic knobs securely attached. The original tuning dial works fine no slipping no sticky spots.
LOGO: No missing logo.
DIAL LIGHT: Dial Light works and lights brightly.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The brand new replacement power cord and safety polarized plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is hinged and securely mounted. Factory printing is clear and readable.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
