DESCRIPTION: This is one of the classiest looking clock radios ever made. The contours and ergonomics couldn't be more sensual and graceful. Rare as can be. This particular design always gets sold quickly. I've never see one in PERIWINKLE blue. Probably never will again. I may decide to put this one in my secret stash and it will never be seen again! This was the easiest radio to photograph! It takes a great picture from every angle. AM tabletop tube clock radio manufactured by Plymouth in the 1948 time frame still in excellent+ working condition. This radio has a very golden age of radio look. There is a hairline heat crack on top approximately 1-2" length. A few scratches on top that could not be polished out. No repaints no other modifications of any kind. No stress cracks, chips, or major scrapes. All knobs, dial pointer, etc are present, working, not missing. The little gold metal clock knobs are original. Nice touch. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without external antenna attachment. Excellent art deco design! Original PERIWINKLE blue plastic cabinet is beautiful mirror-like glossy condition. If you're not sure what Periwinkle blue looks like, I encourage you to check out a box of Crayola crayons 64 pack. It looks Sky Blue in the photo under bright mid day sun but it's more of a cornflower or periwinkle blue. The volume and tuning knobs are original matching robin's egg blue plastic securely attached. Clock works and keeps accurate time. Clock is quiet. Alarm works, Alarm set works. Clock set works. Sleep function works. This radio is over 60 years old! All the dial numbering and lettering is crisp and clear. Look at the neat Art Deco-ish type font! No missing numbering, dots or dashes, or anything. No smudges or yellowing. The back panel is good usable shape but with fatigued corners and attach edges. The tuning and volume dials work fine. The unit powers on and off with a definite click. All out of spec capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. The original power cord and plug is in good working condition with no cracks, or splits or electrical tape repair. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, Harry S Truman was president! This thing belongs in a museum!
