DESCRIPTION: Rare and beautiful turquoise twin speaker model from Truetone. This radio howls like a banshee! Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Truetone in 1959 in stellar working condition. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. The corners are a little dinged. There is a web of tiny hairline cracks on the speaker grill vanes not completely broken through probably due to the loud volume this little monster is capable of producing! The cabinet is in excellent condition otherwise. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. This radio is in stellar working condition! Sounds wonderful with twin speakers. Really fills the room. Beautifully proportioned design with a unique delicious looking pistachio green color. Manufacturer calls it 'turquoise.' Cabinet is original factory molded in this color. No exterior repairs or repaints. None needed. The front logo fascia is original and a little wavy in two areas due to glue separation. Rather than risk creasing or ripping the logo applique, I decided to leave it alone. Knobs are original and securely attached. Tuning knob station numbers are worn off but slight indentations of the numbering is still faintly legible. No missing factory labels or stickers on back and bottom. This radio is over 60 years old! Some missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on raised lettering and insignia. The tuning dial works fine. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The replacement power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
