DESCRIPTION: This clock radio is more rare than the others of this make and design. It features unique vertical slats as opposed to the more common horizontal slats. The on/off switch knob is unusual too but appears to be original. The volume and tuning knobs are spectaclular. Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by RCA Victor in late fifties in excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in excellent condition. No cracks, chips, or major scratches. No cigarette burns. There are a slightly yellowish splotches on the top due to something spilled on to it over the years. This radio is over 55 years old! The knobs are in near prisitine condition with no yellowing. These knobs are the best I've ever come across in this make and manufacturer and time period. The tuning knob is clear as crystal and not missing center gold metal cap. The clock bezel is clear and transparent not yellowing. No hairline cracks. The clock dial face is in excellent untarnished condition. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on clock dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works and keep accurate time for a mechanical analog design. The clock motor has an audible hum but not buzzing. The alarm does not seem to be working correctly. I did nto set tha alram and wait until the set time to see if the alarm would come on. I performed my usual routine by setting the alarm and then adjusting the time to make the alarm go off, and it didn't The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
