Ruby Red Mid Century Retro Vintage 1954 General Electric Model 556 AM Tube Radio

COLOR: Red, gorgeous deep red color.

DESCRIPTION: Beautiful rare red hot retro clock radio! Original factory molded color not repainted! Vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by General Electric in 1954 in excellent+ working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. No chips or major scratches. Minor dents and dings throughout. There is a stress fracture on top by the tuning wheel. This radio is over 60 years old but still gets looks and sounds great! Still retains factory glossiness with minimal swirls and micro scratches. No cabinet repairs or repaints performed. None needed. All original everything. This original condition cabinet with no missing pieces. Knobs are original and securely attached. No missing factory labels or stickers.  All the dial numbers are crisp and clear. The dial clear bezel is not clear and has a cloudy finish but no hairline cracks or micro scratches. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. Love the brass clock surround, like an old battleship! The tuning dial works fine. No dial light. Not designed with one. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. The resistors were all within factory specification so they're all original too. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. Backing board is in good condition. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. No missing bottom label. The original power cord and plug is in good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets.
