DESCRIPTION: Tabletop Tube AM radio manufactured by Travler in 1959 in excellent working condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is original shiny ivory plastic. There is a hairline crack starting on the front top edge above the tuning knob. No other cracks, chips, or major scratches. The grill is repainted turquoise color. A previous owner painted the entire radio yellow at some point. There are traces of old paint that I was not able to remove between the slats of the front grill in the lower left section. This is a very rare color combo for this radio. Black-turquoise, black-pink, white-pink seem to be more common. Iconic tri-star tuning knob is original and securely attached in excellent condition. This radio is over 60 years old! No dial light. Not designed with one. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The CBS grill logo is in excellent condition. The kitschy-est of kitsch! The tuning dial works fine. The power cable is securely attached. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
