DESCRIPTION: I come across a lot of these old Travlers but none ever like this one. This Travler radio has the most factory correct original grill color I've ever seen. Often the factory painted grill fades over the years or begins to flake or rub-off. The grill on this particular piece is immaculate. The color tone is outstanding. I hesitate to sell it because of its utility to me as a color reference and as a feature piece for my upcoming book. I purposely did not repair or restore the electronics because of its originality but I will perform these repairs if the buyer requests it for no additional charge. This is currently a non-working radio. The radio hums loudly when turned on because it needs electronic repairs and restoration. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Travler in 1959 in excellent+ condition. Cabinet is original shiny ivory plastic. There is a hairline crack that has been repaired on the back left edge. No other cracks, chips, or major scratches. The grill is not repainted. This is a very rare color combo for this radio. Black-turquoise, black-pink, white-pink seem to be more common. Iconic tri-star tuning knob is original and securely attached in excellent condition but the center shows some paint wear. I will restore this tuning knob at no additional charge upon request. I chose to keep it original. This radio is over 60 years old! No dial light. Not designed with one. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on dial lettering. The Travler grill logo is pristine condition. The kitschy-est of kitsch! The tuning dial works fine. The power cable is securely attached. The power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage!
