DESCRIPTION: If you are preparing for interplanetary travel, you will need this radio in your flying saucer. The lighted top display register with AM slide indicator is patent retro futurism. The gold metal surround adds some unexpected heft to the whole package like it's a radio with tail fins! This is the radio Duran Duran would have tuned into in Barbarella. And Jane would expressed her approval. To say it is rare would be an understatement. This radio has sleek Courbusier-ish design elements that you don't see from other manufacturers so it's truly a monumental statement in mid century product design. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Travler in 1959 in excellent working condition. Some minute stress fractures along the bottom of the display register. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is original factory molded shiny red plastic. No cracks, no chips, no dents anywhere on the cabinet. There are micro scratches and minor abrasions throughout the cabinet due to normal wear and tear over the years.
