Turquoise and Wicker Vintage 1954 Capehart Model 3T55BN AM Vacuum Tube Radio Sounds Great Excellent Original Condition!
DESCRIPTION: Cute tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Capehart in 1954 in excellent working and physical condition. Popular model in a popular color combination.
SOUND QUALITY: Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly around the dial without need of external antenna attachment.
CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory molded Bakelite with original factory turquoise paint. Usually this model suffers much worse from factory paint loss and requires repainting. No over spray. Not touched up. No cracks, chips or major scratches or missing pieces. There is a small amount of paint loss on top and small knicks to the paint throughout considering its age. Beautifully contrasting original factory wicker grill. No rips, no separation, no discoloration of wicker material. No separated edges. No repairs or repaints performed or needed.
KNOBS: Original matching turquoise knobs securely attached. The original tuning dial works fine in excellent condition.
LOGO: Capehart logo lettering is missing.
DIAL LIGHT: No tuning dial light. Not designed with one.
INTERNAL ELECTRONICS: All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
POWER CORD: The original power cord and plug are in excellent condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring.
BACKING BOARD: Original backing board is intact securely attached.
FACTORY LABELS AND STICKERS: No missing bottom labels.
