DESCRIPTION: It's not too often you come across one of these in a stunning rare turquoise color! The cabinet is factory original urea plastic which is a hard inflexible plastic that predates styrene plastics found everywhere today. The condition of this particular cabinet is excellent. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1957 in excellent+ working condition. This design is called the turbine radio for obvious reasons. The clear cone is shiny and original and securely attached. No chips or dents or discoloration any where on the cabinet. There is a heat crack on the top back left which is common among Motorola models of this period. There is a little white flea bite size area of discoloration. All original turquoise color is very much sought after for its rarity and extraordinary beauty. Original factory molded color not painted. No modifications, repaints, over-sprays or touchups. None needed. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Nice deep rich tone. This radio is over 50 years old! The knobs are in very good condition. Slightly green with age. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The Chrome paint 'M' is intact and in very good condition. The clear bezel is securely attached no cracks or scratches. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. Backing board is in good condition with crisp square corners. The power cord and plug are a good replacement with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. When this radio was new, tailfins were all the rage! This thing belongs in a museum!
