DESCRIPTION: Tabletop tube AM clock radio alarm manufactured by Emerson in 1962 excellent+ physical and working condition. Very early sixties transitional design with vestiges of fifties elements refusing to die. Original factory molded turquoise color. No repaints. No touch-ups. No over spray. There is a small cigarette burn across the top of the radio. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Cabinet is in very, very good condition with no cracks, chips, or major scratches. No yellowing or fading. The front grill in excellent condition. A very few small dings in the metal mesh grill. The front Emerson logo is in very good condition the paint has worn away. The original knobs are solid and securely attached. The volume knob is missing its gold metal insert. The little clock knobs are securely attached. Very mid century in concept. The clock face is clear not yellowing. The clock arms have some damage, the hour hand is missing paint in the middle, see pictures. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. No clock light not designed with one. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The clock works quietly and keeps accurate time. The alarm works. The buzzer works. The clock and alarm set function work. The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations unless you operate near modern megahertz devices. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The thick power cord and plug are good original working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment no pets. This thing belongs in a museum!
