Ivory Beige Bakelite 1947 Crosley Model 58TL AM Tube Radio Post War Beauty!
DESCRIPTION: Crosley is one of the only companies still around today and still making radios. This vintage tabletop tube AM radio manufactured is in excellent+ working condition. This bakelite beauty was originally painted at the factory in a beautiful creamy white, which has chipped over time due to normal use not abuse. Not repainted no overspray no touch up. Original factory finish. There are no chips. No major scratches. I opted not to repaint for originality sake. The tuning and volume knobs are original and securely attached. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Oddly, Crosley decided to reverse the stations from 1600 kHz to 550 kHz left to right which is opposite of what's normal. No difference in frequency sensitivity or reception quality. This radio is over 70 years old! There are no cracks on the top. Some flaking on dial lettering in spots. The tuning dial works fine no slipping. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time! The tubes are working fine. All out-of-spec resistors have been replaced with modern correct value and voltage equivalents. There is no loud or pervasive hum. There is no loud or pervasive static between stations. The set has been aligned according to factory specifications. The brand new replacement power cord and polarized plug are excellent working condition with no cracks, or splits. No exposed wiring. The radio has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. All wiring has been thoroughly checked for possible bridging and weak solder connection. Comes from non-smoking, mature, clean professional environment.
